What lifts you up? Teen Yoga with Sheila K.
This series will explore the pitfalls of the teenage mind and that mental chatter that keeps you from being the best you can be. 6 classes-each with a different theme held weekly on Sundays 10am-11am from October 3rd-November 7th
Yoga strengthens the muscles, improves balance while building flexibility but, it also calms the mind. It teaches us that physical and mental health start from within. During a time when 70 percent of teens are struggling with their mental health, the need for accessible stress-management tools is greater than ever before. Yoga is one of the most effective all-natural approaches for addressing anxiety and depression for teens.
Each one hour class (6 total) will focus on a different theme. We will utilize yoga, breath, tools, and a craft specific for each theme. Tools may include crystals, essential oils, EFT, sound bowls, drawing, mandalas, and mindfulness.
Teens will explore body positivity, self acceptance, and calming the "monkey mind" (constant thoughts).
My hope for this series is both teen and parent will begin to notice improved sleep, more confidence, being present, and on the spot tools to cope with anxiety..
