About the Event
Tools & Tips for Teen Struggles-hosted by Jennifer Maurer and Sheila K.
In this calming and inviting workshop, Jennifer and Sheila will share with you different coping and self-care strategies to help you ease any anxiety, stress, or tension you may be experiencing in this moment. Teens will explore body positivity, self acceptance, and calming the "monkey mind" (constant thoughts).
Sheila will offer some very gentle yoga movement to settle the body and mind. Yoga teaches us that physical and mental health start from within. The need for accessible stress-management tools for teens is greater now more than ever.
Jennifer will guide you through a variety of relaxing and reflective practices, such as Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping (a mind-body practice that combines the effects of acupressure on different energy meridians of the body to help provide emotional/physical release), meditation, and journaling. In addition to these practices, you will be taught different breathing techniques, nutrition tips, and other self-care practices that you can bring with you wherever you go and tie into your everyday life so you will always feel supported.
Overall, this workshop will leave you feeling more centered, grounded, and at ease than before and give you the confidence to face anything life has to offer you moving forward!
Our hope for this workshop is that both teen and parent will begin to notice improved sleep, more confidence, being present, and less anxious!!
